Last night, May 5th, 2018 5pm - 7pm, I had my artist reception for the "Call of the Wild" Art show. It was an amazing feeling to see that I was accepted into the show and my painting was hanging up with other artists. It really showed me that my art had to be good because it is difficult to get into the show. All artwork is judged before the show and only certain ones are accepted. This meant a lot to me.
There was a "contest" with winners. I did not win but I wasn't even thinking of the contest. The fact that I got in meant everything to me and made me a winner.
I even spoke with many artists and got to talk about my painting. I found some pieces that I would love to own as well.
I look forward to the next art show I can be a part of. This has inspired me to really open up and explore my skills.
I was also thrilled that my parents came down from up north to see my painting and enjoy the reception with me and my husband.
This exhibit will be going until May 26th. So if you are in the Los Angeles, CA area and would like to see this painting or even purchase it. Check it out at the San Fernando Valley Arts and Cultural Center.
