A few months ago, I received some watercolors from a family friend. After having them for so long, I decided it was time to give them a try. I haven't touched watercolors since high school in 2006.
This painting only took me about an 1 - 1 1/2 hours to complete. I enjoyed using the watercolors. They were a lot easier to work with compared to acrylics. I can see myself trying out watercolors more in the future. I am also considering doing some mix medium paintings.
i chose a rose for my first watercolor painting because I love roses; they are my favorite flower. But also because Roses have depth. Roses are a little challenging to paint when you're wanting to show depth and make it somewhat realistic.
Not too bad for the first watercolor painting. I look forward to the next painting to see how I do.
