This painting is called Waterfalls, it is a mixed media painting (Watercolors and Acrylics).
It is a larger one, measuring 12x16. The waterfalls, greenery and cliffs are all acrylic and the lake part is 95% watercolor. The white mist and the white lines are acrylic.
Since I started working with watercolors, I felt they would be perfect for water scenes because they can capture the different shades of colors very well. Acrylics work well for more solid objects, like the greenery and cliffs. I didn't use water color for the waterfalls because I wants to have the illusion of the waterfall going over the other elements, and I was worried the watercolor wouldn't give me the same effect as the acrylic.
This is one of my favorite paintings and I plan on framing it. It will be available in the eStore and Etsy shop once I have it framed. I've already ordered on, so I should receive it on Monday, March 19th.
I took a few pictures at different angles to try and capture the real beauty of this painting. I don't feel like the camera is really capturing the beauty of the painting. Hopefully when I get the frame and it hung up, it will look better.
